The ‘Jameson Empire Awards‘ held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on sunday evening, in London.
At 16:30 they started their livestreaming interviews on empireonline.com. Chris was talking to arrivals, at first Adam Brown of ‘The Hobbit‘. Later Tom Hiddleston, Jenna Louise Coleman, Sam Claflin and Laura Haddock, Helen Mirren, Mark Strong, Danny Boyle, Rafe Spall who told Chris:
– It’s taken me 11 years to become a ‘Newcomer‘. I suppose I’m a ‘Newcomer‘ to being in successful films.
After 18:00 the show began with year of 2012’s ‘Best Films‘ montage. Then guests was watching clips from the nominees of ‘Best Horror‘ category: Dark Shadows, Sightseers, Sinister, The Cabin In The Woods, The Woman In Black.
– … and the winner is… The Woman In Black. – said Café de Paris.
The second category ‘Best Science Fiction / Fantasy‘ presented and there were also clips from the nominees.
– … and the winner is… The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey. – they said.
The ‘Ted’ movie’s director [Seth MacFarlane] sadly couldn’t be with us, but he messaged:
‘Thank you to Empire and the whole of Britain for this award. Thanks also for Magna Carta, Shakespeare, John Milton and the entire industrialised economy. In return, please accept my film about a swearing teddy bear.’
Just a while later “The Woman In Black‘ director James Watkins was on stage again, to give Daniel Radcliffe ‘Empire Hero‘ award and said that Daniel ‘deserves it for being utterly fearless.’ [Dan deserves it, I think so too.]
– It’s always embarrassing to see myself, and thanks for the awws at the beginning. Empire’s always been unpatronising of Potter and myself, so thanks for that. – Dan told.
